Baked Apples


It's never the wrong time of the year for this fall treat. These baked apples will come out super soft and sweet, and it's a great (and safe) dish to share with friends and family.

Ingredients and calories:

5 red delicious or honey crisp apples (~500)

3 granny smith apples (~300)

3 tbsp of cornstarch (90)

3 tbsp of pumpkin puree (20)

1/2 cup of hot water (0)

1.5 tsp of pumpkin pie spice (9)

1 tbsp of shredded ginger (~6)

Total calories: 925

Calories per serving (out of 8 servings): ~116

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Cut the apples into thin slices and neatly place into a deep glass dish (or something comparable). In a separate small bowl, mix the pumpkin puree, hot water, ginger, and spice until smooth. Pour over the apples. Sprinkle cornstarch over the apples and mix them until throughout. Bake for about 45 minutes with foil over the dish. Afterwards take off the foil and bake for another 10 minutes. Let it cool for 10 minutes. Serve and enjoy!
