Homemade Almond Butter


I got this recipe through Foodie Fiasco (thank you!) and it has allowed me to eat nut butters again. I used to be terrified of them, but this instant homemade almond butter is half the calories of store bought brands. Perfect.

Ingredients and calories:

1/2 cup of almond meal (320)

1/4 cup of unsweetened vanilla almond milk (~8)

Total calories: ~328

Calories per tbsp: ~42

Mix together the almond meal and almond milk. Microwave for 30 seconds to thicken. I usually put mine in the refrigerator to cool and I'll eat a couple tablespoons of it with some sugar free jam as a snack.
